We make Gymciety. It appears in this guide, and we say so wherever it does. Every other product is described from its own website, checked on the date above, with what it does well stated first. If we have something wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
How we compared them
I coach for a living and co-founded Gymciety, so this list has a bias and I am naming it. Gymciety is first because it is ours. Every other app was read from its own pricing page on 9 September 2026, and the numbers that matter to a working coach were pulled out: what it costs with 20 clients, where the client cap sits, whether nutrition and payments are in the price or bolted on, and whether you get an app under your own name.
The trap in this category is the headline price. Several apps look cheapest until you add meal plans, payments, automation or branding, so the table shows what is included, not what is advertised.
The comparison table
| App | Best for | At 20 clients | Client cap | Nutrition | Client payments | Branded app |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gymciety (ours) | coaches who want nutrition, check-ins and payments without add-ons | $44.99 | 15 or unlimited | Included | Included | Partial |
| ABC Trainerize | starting free and scaling to a studio | Pro tier (varies) | Tiered to 1,000+ | Included | Add-on | Add-on |
| TrueCoach | strength coaches who want a clean workout logger | $57.99 | 5 / 20 / 50 | Partial | Included | Included |
| PT Distinction | branded apps at a low price | $59.90 | 3 / 25 / 50, then per client | Included | Included | Included |
| Everfit | a free start with a modern client app | ~$29 + add-ons | 5 free, then tiered | Add-on | Add-on | Partial |
| Hevy Coach | clients who already log in Hevy | Tiered from $25 | Tiered to 1,000 | No | No | No |
| My PT Hub | unlimited clients on a mid-price plan | $59 | 3, then unlimited | Included | Included | Add-on |
| FitBudd | a white-label app with a branded website | $79 | 2 / 20, then per client | Included | Included | Included |

- Weekly check-ins with a review queue, retention flags when a client goes quiet, and automations for reminders and win-backs.
- Clients pay you directly through Stripe. Session bookings, a program builder with 377 animated exercises, and chat with voice notes.

2. ABC Trainerize — best for starting free and scaling to a studio
- Published price
- Free for 1 client; USD 9 for 2; Pro from 23 for 5 clients, tiered to 200; Studio Plus from 248.

- Studio plans for gyms with many trainers, backed by a large company.
Limits
- Payments are an add-on below Studio, and the branded app is a USD 169 add-on.
- Costs climb with client tiers, so compare your real roster size, not the headline price.
Verdict: The default for a coach starting from nothing. Check what your tier and add-ons come to at 30 clients before committing.
3. TrueCoach — best for strength coaches who want a clean workout logger
- Published price
- USD 26.34 for 5 clients, 57.99 for 20, 136.99 for 50. Cheaper on annual.

- Zapier automations for the business side.
Limits
- Nutrition is a MyFitnessPal integration plus habits rather than built-in meal planning.
- Hard client caps: 50 on the top plan.
Verdict: A strong pick for strength and conditioning coaches under 50 clients who do not need in-app nutrition.
4. PT Distinction — best for branded apps at a low price
- Published price
- USD 19.90 for 3 clients, 59.90 for 25, 89.90 for 50; extra clients from 1.60 to 6.00 each.
- Based in
- United Kingdom
- Trial
- One month free, cancel any time in the first month.
- Website
- www.ptdistinction.com
Strengths
- Your own branded iOS and Android apps on Pro and Master, at a price most rivals charge for unbranded.
- AI program builder, nutrition and meal planning, group training and technique review on every plan.
- Per-client overage pricing rather than a hard wall.
Limits
- Per-client fees make the bill unpredictable past the included number.
- The interface is denser than the newer apps.
Verdict: The best-value route to a branded app of your own. Budget for the per-client fees.
5. Everfit — best for a free start with a modern client app
- Published price
- Free for 5 clients; Pro USD 19 to 29 by tier; Studio 105 to 430. Meal plans, payments and automation are paid add-ons.

- Trial
- Free tier, no card.
- Website
- everfit.io
Strengths
- A free plan for five clients with workouts, messaging and habits.
- Team management and custom branding from Pro.
Limits
- Meal plans (from USD 33), payments (from 8) and automation (from 24) are separate add-ons, so the real price is well above the headline.
- No payments at all without the add-on.
Verdict: Good to start free. Add up the add-ons before you compare it to flat-price tools.
6. Hevy Coach — best for clients who already log in Hevy
- Published price
- From USD 25 per month for up to 10 clients, tiered to 1,000.

- Coaching is workouts and messaging only.
Verdict: Ideal if your clients are Hevy users and you run nutrition and billing elsewhere.
7. My PT Hub — best for unlimited clients on a mid-price plan
- Published price
- USD 25 for 3 clients; Premium 59 unlimited; Ultimate 215. Branded app USD 95 one-time or white label 145 per month.

- Website
- www.fitbudd.com
Strengths
- Fully white-labelled iOS and Android apps plus a branded website on the upper tiers.
- Workouts, nutrition, video calls, payments and progress photos on every plan.
Limits
- Setup fees and per-client overages; the white-label tier costs USD 149 before extra clients.
- Pricier than most at 50 clients.
Verdict: Choose it when your own app under your own name is the point and you will pay for it.
How to choose
- Count your clients honestly, then add ten. Caps and tiers are where cheap plans get expensive. Flat unlimited plans (Gymciety Pro, My PT Hub Premium) win past about 25 clients.
- Decide whether you coach nutrition. If you set macros and review food, you want it in the app, not a link to another one. That rules out Hevy Coach and makes Everfit an add-on purchase.
- Get paid inside the app. Chasing transfers by text is the admin coaches hate most. Pick a plan with client payments included.
- Only pay for a white-label app if your brand needs it. Most clients care about the coach, not the icon.
Where Gymciety fits. Nutrition with AI meal logging, weekly check-ins, client payments and unlimited clients for one flat price, built in the UAE with support in English and Arabic. If you go yearly on Pro, we design and host your coaching website. See Gymciety for coaches or start the 7-day trial.
Questions
What does personal trainer software cost?
Between free and about USD 60 a month for a coach with 20 clients, depending on whether nutrition, payments and a branded app are included or sold as add-ons. Gymciety Pro is USD 44.99 for unlimited clients with all three of nutrition, check-ins and payments included. Everfit and Trainerize look cheaper until add-ons are counted. Studio and white-label tiers run from USD 100 to 430.
Which apps include nutrition coaching?
Gymciety, PT Distinction, My PT Hub and FitBudd include nutrition in the plan. Trainerize includes tracking. TrueCoach relies on a MyFitnessPal link. Everfit sells meal plans as an add-on. Hevy Coach has none.
Which ones let clients pay me through the app?
Gymciety (Stripe), TrueCoach, PT Distinction, My PT Hub and FitBudd on every plan. Trainerize and Everfit charge extra for payments. Hevy Coach does not process client payments.
Do I need a white-label app?
Only if your brand is the business and clients will download a separate app under your name. PT Distinction and FitBudd do this at the lowest cost. Most coaches are well served by their branding inside a shared app, which Gymciety, Everfit and TrueCoach provide.
Which is best for coaches in the UAE?
Gymciety is built in the UAE with support in English and Arabic, and your clients pay you through Stripe. The others are US or UK platforms that work anywhere but price in USD and support on their own hours.
