Where Gymciety is going next
What our engineers are building, what is queued behind it, and the gaps we are still deciding how to close — in the same plain words as the changelog.
Last updated 23 September 2026
We ship every week, and the changelog is the honest record of what is live. This page is the direction, not a promise with dates — when something ships it leaves this list and lands there. The order is set by what gyms and coaches ask for; if something you need is missing, tell us.
In progress
Building now
Being engineered this quarter. These land in the changelog when they ship.
Members
A home-screen widget under your brand
The gym's logo, today's booking and a check-in shortcut on the member's home screen — next to the app icon their gym already ships with. No store release wait once installed.
Coaches
Program and client import
Bring an existing roster and programs in from spreadsheets instead of rebuilding them. Templates migrate once; assignments follow.
Members
Wearable sync: Apple Health and Health Connect
Steps, sleep and heart-rate data flow into the daily readiness check and the client's adherence picture, so the coach sees recovery without asking.
Gyms
Spot selection in classes
Members pick a named bike, mat or station when they book a class, on top of the capacity caps that already hold.
Scoped
Next
Scoped and sequenced behind the current work. Order can move with what gyms ask for.
Coaches
A program marketplace
Coaches publish program templates to a catalog; gyms and other coaches buy or assign them. The foundation is already in the codebase.
Members
Log sets from the wrist
An Apple Watch companion for starting the session and ticking off sets without picking up the phone mid-workout.
Gyms
Challenges and leaderboards
Attendance streaks and gym-wide challenges that give members a reason to come back on the quiet weeks.
Members
Grocery lists from the meal plan
The week's suggested meals rolled into one shopping list, exportable as a PDF.
Gyms
Member referrals
Members invite a friend from the app; the trial pass and the credit for bringing them are tracked automatically.
Not committed
Exploring
Real gaps we are deciding how to close. Nothing here is committed yet — if one matters to you, tell us; it moves.
Gyms
Access-control hardware
Turnstile and biometric door integration for unmanned or 24-hour gyms. Today the door runs on QR check-in scanned by staff.
Gyms
Point of sale and retail
Selling drinks, supplements and merchandise over the counter with inventory. Today payments are recorded against memberships and passes only.
Platform
WhatsApp messaging
Booking and check-in reminders over WhatsApp where members already are. Today automations reach members by push and in-app chat.
Gyms
A separately listed white-label app
Your own listing on the App Store and Google Play, beyond the branded home-screen icon that already ships on paid plans.
Platform
Open API and Zapier
Webhooks and a public API so gyms wire Gymciety into their own tools — accounting, access systems, CRMs.
Straight answers
How does Gymciety decide what to build?
By what paying gyms and coaches ask for. Every item on this page exists because customers raised it, and the order inside each section moves with new requests. The founders read every message that comes through the site.
When will a roadmap item ship?
Items under "Building now" are being engineered and typically land within weeks to a few months; "Next" follows behind them; "Exploring" has no committed date. We do not promise dates we cannot hold — the changelog at gymciety.net/changelog is the record of what actually shipped, updated monthly.
Can I request a feature?
Yes. Message us through the contact page or WhatsApp and say what you are trying to do. Requests from gyms and coaches on the platform set the order of this roadmap.
Will Gymciety support turnstiles or biometric door access?
It is being explored, not committed. Today entry runs on QR check-in scanned by staff at the desk, which covers staffed gyms; unmanned 24-hour gyms that need hardware-controlled doors are a poor fit until this lands.
Will there be a fully white-labelled Gymciety app?
A separately listed app per gym is being explored. Today, paid gym plans already ship the gym's logo as the app's home-screen icon with each store release, and the whole member app carries the gym's brand — members download Gymciety once and it reads as yours.
The fastest way to move this list
Ask for it. The roadmap is ordered by what gyms and coaches on the platform need, and every message reaches the founders.
